Under the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990 (PPA), TRI collects information to track industry progress in reducing waste generation and moving towards safer waste management alternatives. Measures that facilities have taken to prevent pollution and reduce the amount of toxic chemicals entering the environment are shown in the table below. Although factors other than these reported practices contribute to year-to-year changes in releases, results are sorted by largest reduction in order to facilitate identification of pollution prevention successes. View the to learn about this report's features.

Xylene (mixed isomers) 331420: Copper Rolling, Drawing, Extruding, and Alloying 2019 2,875.00 372.38 -87.05 Source Reduction: W52: Modified equipment, layout, or piping[-15-24%] - In the year 2019 several changes were made to the facility. 1. One of our largest producers of Xylene Waste/Emissions (MAG Machine) was taken out of service. 2. All of our Double Long Ovens were taken out of service and dismantled. 3. A large percentage of our Short Ovens were moved to a new Modular Room that is enclosed, this has aided in the dramatic reduction of Fugitive Emissions and an increase in the volume of treated Emissions via our RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidiser), 50% of our long ovens were enclosed in a new Modular Room that is enclosed, this has aided in the dramatic reduction of Fugitive Emissions and an increase in the volume of Treated Emissions via our RTO system. 4. Greater controls over air volume on our ovens as lead to an increase in the amount of Fugitive Emissions that are captured and processed via our RTO system.
