Pollution Prevention Activities for Selected Chemical

Reporting Year Section 8.10: Newly Implemented Source Reduction Activity Section 8.10: Methods to Identify Activity Section 8.11: Optional Pollution Prevention Information*
2023 Source Reduction:: S23: Implemented new technology, technique, or process
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T01: Internal pollution prevention opportunity audit(s)
2021 Source Reduction:: S23: Implemented new technology, technique, or process
Source Reduction:: S25: Other process modifications made
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T09: Trade association/industry technical assistance program
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
S23: Utilizing nitrogen to offload product which eliminates the losses from pumps and valves
S25: Promoting railcar to tanker vice packaging to drums utilizing nitrogen to offload the railcar instead of pumps. Reduced emissions by not transferring this product to a storage tank, it went directly from a railcar to a tanker (preferred) or packaging

Source Reduction - Involved senior sales team along with company President
Source Reduction - Nitrogen was already being used to provide a nitrogen blanket on our tanks and it was recommended to use nitrogen to push products as it is inert
2020
Source Reduction: Source Reduction - We have installed a drumming machine in 2018, completed installation in 2019. It fills drum to a pre-determined volume, preventing overflow. If it detects a 5 lb loss in the drum, it automatically stops filling which if there was a spill would minimize it.

2019 Source Reduction - We utilize nitrogen to offload from all railcars and hence no losses from pumps and valves
