S23: The site is working to improve the "Clean In Place" or "CIP" process to reduce the number of CIPs performed, therefore reducing the use of peracetic acid containing chemicals. This improvement process is ongoing. Note that peracetic acid use is dependent on manufacturing and production. Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - Peracetic acid is a component of our CIP process and used to clean/decontaminate vessels. Its use has been fully validated for our processes. Improper/ineffective cleaning methods may lead to increased bioburden/bacteria/molds etc. which would contaminate our product. |
