Pollution Prevention Activities for Selected Chemical

Reporting Year Section 8.10: Newly Implemented Source Reduction Activity Section 8.10: Methods to Identify Activity Section 8.11: Optional Pollution Prevention Information*
2021 Source Reduction:: S03: Substituted raw materials, feedstock, or reactant chemical
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance
S03: supply shortages and use of alternative cataylst with less Dimethyl phthalate being trialed and used

2018 Source Reduction:: W53: Use of a differant process catalyst
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance
W53: As raw material products and customer specifications changed several different catalyst were being used. Many of them did not contain DMP

Source Reduction - Heloing us match the right performance catalyst with the changes in raw material products
2017 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - Catalyst is only used to help the product exo-therm ratio's off the catalyst are very scientific. We have looked at alternative products and try and always use what will work without causing parts to not set up which would create more emissions

2015 Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Only using at 1 to 3 percent currently. This is the recommended amount any less would make the product not set up, anymore could create heat issues in the product. As we reduce styrene contents in our resins, many require different catalyst. This being the reason it is reportable this year. As other alternatives are reviewed, the product could be reduced.

2012 Other Barriers to Source Reduction - This chemical is a component in our catalyst and although we have tried alternatives it has resulted in resins and gelcoats not setting up causing more warrenty issues and creating issues where we are re-producing the parts to get full cure. Therefore nothing is being currently modified.

2011 Source Reduction:: W42: Substituted raw materials

Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T01: Internal pollution prevention opportunity audit(s)
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance
Source Reduction - Changes in our cataylst to lower HAP containing materials was experimented during the 2011 production year. Although production increased 8% our actual usage of the Dimethyl Phthalate decreased due to lower HAP contents in the Cataylst and using less due to changes in the weather.
2006 Source Reduction:: W21: Instituted procedures to ensure that materials do not stay in inventory beyond

Source Reduction:: W29: Other changes in inventory control

Source Reduction:: W42: Substituted raw materials
