W42: Customer substitution of Lead Free soldering versus Tin-Lead solders has provided some small reduction of Tin-Lead solder usage in 2011. Source Reduction - 30% reduction in Lead usage is due to 20% work hours reduction, and Migration of SnPb products to Lead Free products. Source Reduction - Customer preference change from Tin-Lead solder to Lead Free Solder. Altered dross removal process to reduce entrapped Lead content going to recovery. Source Reduction - ERG has introduced changes in the handling of waste solder dross to reduce overall vendor recovery of Lead. Dross recovery stream remains at approximately 30% recoverable Lead for each pound of Dross.. Note: 2010 recycled Lead was reported as 610 # 2011 recycled value was 886 #. ERG has been conducting an evaluation of three recyclers to establish performance, value, and response time. This evaluation has required the collection of a minimum of 500# minimum of dross (at 30% Lead) being sent to each of the 3 companies at the same time. 2011 was the last of a series of three evaluation shipments to each provider. Note: Line 8.5 Data represents thr Total Recycled Waste weigh yirlding approximately 30% Lead recovery. NOTE: Sec. 6.2 #4 is a duplicate of #3 identified site. no data entered for this duplicate. Other Environmental Practices - In 2010 ERG performed an evaluation of three separate recovery company and split the Waste dross from Lead solder operations. This was done for dross collected over sixteen months during 2009 and 2010. This evaluation is being repeated in 2011. Dross waste has decreased with improved collection and lower volume of Lead solder and increase Lead Free Solder usage. |

Source Reduction - ERG solder dross recovery is not directly related to a reporting year. Shipments of dross and scrap parts containing lead for recovery is based upon actual weight, due to restrictions from the metals recovery company(ie. minimum of 2000 or combined dross per shipment) , and not based upon a calendar period. The year 2009 reporting data, therefore, actually includes 4 months of 2008 dross sent for recovery in 2009. Productions mix continues to move from tin-lead solder to lead free products. This trend is expected to reduce tin lead dross recovery into 2010 and beyond. |

Source Reduction - ENDICOTT RESEARCH GROUP's product line is changing toward Lead Free manufacturing. Customer demand for Lead products continues to change to PbFree. ERG has introdued an improved Solder Dross removal process that reduces the Lead content in the removed dross. This has contributed to our overall reduction in treated waste dross. |

Source Reduction - This submission is a revision to the original submission for the 2005 reporting year. In the original submission, data regarding a shipment of waste for recovery was omitted. In 2006, endicott research group will be introducing lead free processing into our manufacturing operations. This change is expected to reduce lead usage in 2006 and future years. |
