Barriers: B8-Barriers to P2 B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible
Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. |
Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - The raw product used to make our products has components that are subject to strict requirements from a quality standpoint and therefore they will likely never be altered much if any. All of these materials are necessary for creating the products at Trane Technologies. Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance
Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. |
S25: Our disposal process shifted from disposing of the slag from the plasma cut table from the La Crosse County Landfill to Runde. Due to the de minimis exemption, we only count the material containing more than 1.0% of nickel in our off-site transfer calculations and the content in the slag does not exceed this. In addition, we started diverting other industrial waste from the landfill to EMCO as part of our Zero Waste to Landfill journey. Source Reduction - Our metal recycling broker identified the opportunity to divert this material to Runde Metal Recycling vs. disposal in the landfill.EMCO obtained our industrial wastes and assisted us with diverting from the La Crosse County Landfill. Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Stainless steel and various cast iron contain nickel. The raw product used to make our products has components that are subject to strict requirements from a quality standpoint and therefore they will likely never be altered much if any. All of these materials are necessary for creating the products at Trane Technologies. |

Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Source was not reduced because one weld wire used in production. Site will communicate with vendor to see if other weld wire can be substituted which has less chromium in the raw product.A majority of the releases are transfers to scrap metal broker.
