Pollution Prevention Activities for Selected Chemical

Reporting Year Section 8.10: Newly Implemented Source Reduction Activity Section 8.10: Methods to Identify Activity Section 8.11: Optional Pollution Prevention Information*
2024 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - Nickel requirements are set by customer specifications and reducing is not possible.

2023 Source Reduction:: S21: Optimized process conditions to increase efficiency
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other
Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.
S21: We had record year for low scrap. Which led to the reduction in usage.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - Nickel requirements are set by the specs and reducing would make it a different alloy.

2022 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.
Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.

Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Casting specs require min and that cant be changed.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - All Nickel goes out as a article component

2021 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - Any reduction of the chemical, in the composition of the metal would result in us not being able to certify it as a specific alloy.

2020 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - All tri chemicals go out as a article component, any reduction would not allow us to certify the alloy to a spec.

2019 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - All tri chemicals go out as a article component.

2018 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - All of our copper goes out as a article component.

2017 Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - All of our TRI chemicals go out as a article component in our final product.

2016 Other Barriers to Source Reduction - All of our Nickel goes out in our final product as a article component.

2015 Barriers: B6-Barriers to P2 B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas

Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We implemented a recycling program for paper plastic etc. Employees who do not have access to recycling facilities can bring their recycling to work, so they will be picked up at no expense to the employee.

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - A cloth media filter was added to our waste stream to help reduce the amount of trace metals in our waste water. The filter has proved to be very effective in reducing out metal outflows. We are well below our PELs and further reduction would take a large amount of technical consulting to see how to reduce the metals any further.

2014 Barriers to P2 - All of our TRI chemicals go out in our final product.

Other Barriers to Source Reduction - All of our TRI chemicals go out in our final product.

2013 Other Environmental Practices - All of our TRI chemicals are either sold to a outside recycling facility, or go out in our final product.

Other Barriers to Source Reduction - All of our TRI chemicals are either sold to a outside recycling facility, or go out in our final product.

2012 Other Environmental Practices - All of our TRI chemicals are either sold to a outside recycling broker, or they go out in our final product.

Other Barriers to Source Reduction - All of our TRI chemicals are either sold to a outside recycling broker, or they go out in our final product.

2008 Other Environmental Practices - All TRI chemicals are either recycled onsite or sent to a outside recycler.
2000 Source Reduction:: W13: Improved maintenance scheduling, recordkeeping, or procedures
Source Reduction:: W82: Modified design or composition of product
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T05: Employee recommendation (independent of a formal company program)
1999 Source Reduction:: W24: Instituted better labeling procedures
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other
