2020
Source Reduction: Source Reduction - The Management Team has made concerted effort to increase efficiency and oversight of quality control processes; therefore, the Facility continues to decrease the quantity of non-conforming material and the amount of copper sent for recycling.

Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - Management recycled material deemed no longer usable, damaged or non-conforming based upon inventory reviews and quality control.

2019 Source Reduction:: W19: Other changes in operating practices
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
Barriers: B3-Barriers to P2 B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.
W19: Enhanced quality control measures (i.e. calibration tools on equipment and quality testing at each step in production) identify "non-conforming matierial" earlier in the production process. This allows product to be reworked as opposed to scrapped for recycling.

Source Reduction - The Management Team has made a concerted effort to increase efficiency and oversight in quality control processes.

Barriers to P2: B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction. - Due to quality control, product that is found to be "non-conforming" and cannot be reworked, must be scrapped and sent for recycling.

2018 Source Reduction:: W19: Other changes in operating practices[-25-49%]
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
W19: Through quality control processes, the Facility has decreased the quantity of "non-conforming material" and therefore the amount of copper sent for recycling.

Source Reduction - The Management Team has made a concerted effort to increase efficiency and oversight in quality control processes.
2017
Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - Management recycles material deemed no longer usable, damaged or old stock no longer used based on inventory reviews and forecasted orders. Any items recyclable are recycled via our recycler or single stream recycling. The inventory in 2017 generated an unplanned surplus of materials for recycle.

2016
Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - Management has elected to remove from inventory old stock and short lengths of cable. This was done to open floor space to allow for new equipment to enhance production

2015 Source Reduction:: W81: Changed product specifications

Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other

Other Environmental Practices: Source Reduction - We are continuing to expand the use of foreign cable for specific operations. this allows us to minimize the waste generated in the initial manufacturing processes. Increased production ratio is attributable to increase in cable assembly operations. This also allow for higher usage of short lengths of cable previously sent for recycle.

2014 Source Reduction:: W49: Other raw material modifications[-25-49%]
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other
Source Reduction - A quantity of raw cable is now made in China. Start-up and scrap associated with that portion of the product now occurs there.
2012 Source Reduction:: W13: Improved maintenance scheduling, recordkeeping, or procedures

Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other
W13: We have maintained a stable workforce for the past 2-3 years. The operators are managing the product with less variation therefore reducing scrap

Source Reduction - A team dedicated to highlighting short lengths for sale has increased their sales and redued associated scrap
2010 Other Environmental Practices - Increase in amount of copper recycled due to better accounting for scrap as sent out; change in vendor; new vendor better differentiates scrap. Additionally, review of obsolete material resulted in scraping of raw material.
2009 Source Reduction:: W58: Other process modifications

Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance
Source Reduction - Installed system to measure concentricity of condutor core. reduced scrap.
