Source Reduction - The ammonia tank is only filled to 44% of the tank's capacity. The records of ammonia monthly purchases amounts was reviewed in 2018. Annual usage in 2018 was slightly higher than in 2017, however, the increase was due to the addition of grinding machines so more parts were processed in this area.
Source Reduction - The cannula department team reviewed ammonia use operations methods.
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - One of two heat treat ovens that use ammonia was removed in 2017. The ammonia tank is filled to no greater than 44% full. Reduction measures were already implemented.
