Other Environmental Practices - The company carefully segregates material residue, processing equipment effluent, and clean-up materials into specially marked containers in accordance with satellite accumulation guidelines. Even the PPE used by employees is considered lead carbonate waste and segregated accordingly. Waste streams 4 & 5 may contain lead carbonate compound residue. Waste stream 6 does not (amendment to manifest base is underway). Inventory is controlled and reported at 0.1 pound accuracy with both perpetual and physical inventories and associated audits. For RY2008, 1.1 pounds are uaccounted for (receipts-processed quantity shipped to customer). The maximum inventory on hand at any point for RY2008 was 878.36 pounds (containing 689 pounds of actual lead). Lead carbonate is used for professional grade artist paints. In 2010, will need to dispose of up to 1000 pounds of finished product with a lead content of 64.77% by weight due to a fraudulent substitution of a dispersaid by Research Solvents (Birmingham, AL). This fraudulent substittion constituted a breach of contract and subsequent use caused the finshed product (Artist Paint) to be unusable by the customer. This is a one-time event. Litigation is pending against Research Solvent. |
