W52: Added a stormwater pretreatment system (electro-coagulation to reduce offsite releases to the environment. Source Reduction - Vice President chose to install this unit to reduce pollutant concentrations in stormwater as part of the company's NPDES source control measures. Other Environmental Practices - Ashgrove Cement company stopped accepting spent grit as a component of their product in Feb of 2014 which will decrease the amount of this chemical we are able to recycle offsite and increase the amount of this chemical sent to landfill. Other recycling alternatives are being explored. |
