Barriers: B6-Barriers to P2 B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas
Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. |
Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - Reformulation of material including Toluene would require providing customers with material that does not meet specifications, including the US Government. Such specifications cannot be altered in this manner. Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Reformulation of material including Toluene would require providing customers with material that does not meet specifications, including the US Government. Such specifications cannot be altered in this manner. Other Environmental Practices: Energy Recovery - All waste generated is used in waste recovery disposal. Other Environmental Practices: Methods for Identifying Pollution Prevention Opportunities - Facility is regulated by TURA that requires companies to review Toluene on a biennial basis to review opportunities for the reduction of the material. Additionally, the company holds bi-weekly meetings to review items that are geared to "continuously improve" the resin creation process (the process that uses the most toluene) and develop long and short term goals to keep improving the system and the processes. |

2013 |
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - No plans were implemented in RY2013 however a review of the processes that use Toluene were completed and are on schedule to be continuing through out RY2014. During 2014, we will be implementing source reduction plans for solvent usage. |

Source Reduction - Toluene is used in the coatings and also used for cleaning. For product M10154, a different coating was substituted that required the application of less coating (0.89 lb/yd versus 1.16 lb/yd). Metering rolls were installed on a tower coater ("ROSS"), which reduced the amount of coating used for many products. |
