Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.
|
Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Nitrates are produced because of our process which uses nitric acid and copper. At this time we do not have an alternative method for production to eliminate the production of nitrates as a byproduct of our manufacturing process. |

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - Better management was previously implemented. Byproduct manufactured is a result of of use of nitric acid, which is an integral part of our production process. |
|
2018 |
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Nitrate compounds are currently manufactured as a byproduct of our production process. If there was a different way to economically remove copper during the manufacturing process and still accomplish the same quality we would be able to reduce our production of nitrates. |

Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - We will be shipping our nitrate compound waste stream for treatment instead of deep well injection in the future. |

Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.
|
Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - At this time nitrate compounds are a direct byproduct of our manufacturing process. Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - The waste stream that contains the nitrate compounds is currently being evaluated for use as an ingredient in the manufacturing of fertilizer. If this waste stream is approved as an ingredient 44000 plus lbs of nitrate compounds will be reused as a product instead of being disposed of or treated. |
|
2014 |
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Nitrate compounds are produced in our manufacturing process when copper is stripped from another material using nitric acid. Both copper and nitric acid are an integral part of our process and their use is dependent on the amount of production we do. |
