Barriers: B6-Barriers to P2 B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas
Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. |
Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - The efficiency of the current process improved as a result of a Green Belt study. The process improvement resulted in a slight improvement in material efficiency. There are no future efficiency improvements planned. Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - The materials used in this process have been proven to be the only ones that can perform the need connection to the product. |

|
Barriers to P2: B1 - Insufficient capital to install new source reduction equipment or implement new source reduction activities/initiat - current equipment was specially designed for maximum through put and product efficiency. to design and install a more efficient system would require a research and development project that would cost more than any estimated savings. |

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - sysem was focus of a Greenbelt project. Improvement implemented made a small improvement in controlling waste. Barriers to P2: B1 - Insufficient capital to install new source reduction equipment or implement new source reduction activities/initiat - equipment that could improve deposit efficiency is available, but has a high cost per system. We would need more then one system to meet our production requirements |

2009 | Other Environmental Practices - Zinc is applied to our product by arc spray. The overspray is the source of the dust and fume. Efforts are being made to reduce the amount of over spray. The major reduction in 2009 was due to reduced volume.
2008 | Other Environmental Practices - The zinc dust & fume is a byproduct of a metal spraying process. The zinc dust & fume is filtered and collected . The collection filters are 99.7% efficient. The collected material is sold for re-Cycling. A lean 6 sigma project was introduced in late 2007 to improve deposit efficiency and reduce overspray zinc (Dust & fume) . The result of the lean 6 sigma doe project was a increase in deposit efficiency form 42% to 70%
