Barriers: B8-Barriers to P2 B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible
Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - copper is product. recycling done to recover metals with separation between copper and tin to maximize recovery of predominant metal. Years are not even. |
2016 |
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - copper mud and copper mud filters are recycled for metal recovery. Waste emulsion is filtered to recover as much copper mud as is feasible. |

Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - WE are installing process filtration to collect more recyclable metals |

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - Copper wastes are sent for metal recovery. Copper is our product, so it is in our interest to reduce waste. |
2013 |
Other Environmental Practices - Since 2012 Omega Wire Inc. has worked to separate copper from tin muds for metals recovery. There is not a metal recovery service identified that recovers both metals economically from a single stream. Enhanced separation has increased the rate of copper and tin recovery.
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Copper is our product. All recoverable copper is recycled. Ongoing pilot testing in 2013 may result in increased copper recovery from processes. |
