Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - Lead has been taken out of customer spec'.s over the years & replaced with pure tin. Our use of lead is down drastically over the years. |

S33: Drying sludge & sent off site as non-haz Source Reduction - Tin & Lead sludge dried & sent off site for metals recovery Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Waste sludge is sent off site is 100% recycled |

W13: Solder plating has reduced over the years by customers substituting pure tin as a coating. When we do plate Tin / lead solder it is scheduled have longer runs to keep runs during the year to a minimum. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Spent tin & tin / lead plating baths are electroplated out prior to treating the solution in our waste water treatment system. Reducing the lead in the sludge & the metal plated out is sent off site for recovery. |

W13: Documented flush procedures for changing from pure tin to solder plating solutions to prevent cross contamination with lead. Source Reduction - Spent solder plating solutions are electrolytically plated out to remover metals for recycle prior to treating the solution. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Metals in F006 sludge is 100% recycled. The total amount of lead in the sludge is only analyzed once / year & the sludge that is sampled for analysis is not always homogeneous. The amount of lead in the sludge was higher this year at the time of analysis. This accounts for the increase in lead from last year. |

Source Reduction - Customers replaced solder (Tin / Lead) coatings with pure tin coatings. Lead use is way down from previous years. We are in the process of being ISO 14000 certified & our entire environmental compliance system has been audited & revised. This required source reduction & recycling audits & activities. The continued use of low flow spray nozzles & air blow offs have reduced water usage & lead dragout. |
2008 | Other Environmental Practices - Due to lead free measures, the amount of lead use has decreased but usage should now be similar to 2008 going forward. The amount of lead waste increased in 2008. The explanation for this is that the yearly analysis of recycled sludge from wrc was higher than in 2007. | ||
2005 | Other Environmental Practices - Section 8.8 is zero .We had a fire on 10/24/06. All water from the fire was contained within the building. The water was tested and approved by the potw for treatment in our treatment center. Treatment water is sent to the potw. |
