|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
|
S31: The facility increased focus on utilizing inventory controls like 'First In, First Out' to ensure raw materials are consumed and finished goods are shipped within their shelf-life as well as production controls to reduce formation of remnant and/or expired materials. Source Reduction - Operation's leadership, engineering and production colleagues work collaboratively to continuously identify opportunities to reduce waste, develop and implement solutions. |
2018 |
Source Reduction: Source Reduction - Several years ago the facility created the cross-functional R3 Team, established to track all wastes generated at the facility, track process improvements and scrap reduction as well as increase recycling opportunities. The facility is now able to accurately track all landfill, composting and recycled wastes and continues to seek out process improvements to reduce scrap and waste. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - The R3 Team also continues to work on increasing recycling opportunities to further reduce the amount of waste generated and disposed of by this facility. |

W19: The facility has been working to implement scrap and waste reduction initiatives. Source Reduction: Source Reduction - The facility has been working to reduce waste generated by scrap and inefficient processes. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - The facility has a multi-functional team working on recycling and other beneficial use opportunities for rubber materials. |
2012 | Other Environmental Practices - We are currently evaluating the feasibility of reusing/recycling this material. | ||
2011 | Other Environmental Practices - Increased recycling of rubber materials is in process at the facility. We anticipate being abie to reduce the amount of zinc to the landfill through increased recycling of rubber each year. |
