W58: Installed a baghouse with 99.2% efficiency rating. Source Reduction - Allegheny county health department required us to install. |
2017 |
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Installation of baghouse and startup occurred the end of November and did not make an impact in CY 2017. Will reduce emissions in 2018. Source Reduction: Source Reduction - On Nov 27th our newly installed baghouse was brought on line for troubleshooting and tuning. Efficiency testing occurred Feb 2018 with an efficiency rating of 99.2%. Benefits of this new baghouse will be reflected in CY 2018 report. |

2016 |
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Source reduction activity will take affect in 4th QTR 2017 with the completion and commissioning (under local authority approvals) of a baghouse. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Nickel containing metal scrap not used in final product is sent offsite to a metal recycler. |

2015 |
Other Environmental Practices - Nickel is an expensive metal contained in many of our alloys. As a result, this facility does everything possible to reduce loss via any route. This includes cyclone separation and collection of fines contained in exhaust gasses and reverting of all uncontaminated materials back into theprocess.
Other Environmental Practices: Source Reduction - A baghouse was engineered in the reporting year and construction to commence in 2016. The baghouse will have 90% control of stackemissions. |

Source Reduction - Nickel is an expensive metal contained in many of our alloys. As a result, this facility does everything possible to reduce loss via any route. This includes cyclone seperation and collection of fines contained in exhaust gasses and reverting of all uncontaminated materials back into the process.
Other Environmental Practices: Source Reduction - A project is underway to install a baghouse with 90% control of stack emissions. We have been issued a construction permit by Allegheny County Health Department and capital expenditures have been approved. We are currently working with an engineering firm on bidding the stages of construction and installation. |

2013 |
Other Environmental Practices - NICKEL IS AN EXPENSIVE METAL CONTAINED IN MANY OF OUR ALLOYS. AS A RESULT, THIS FACILITY DOES EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO REDUCE LOSS VIA ANY ROUTE. THIS INCLUDES CYCLONE SEPARATION AND COLLECTION OF FINES CONTAINED IN EXHAUST GASES AND REVERTING OF ALL UNCONTAMINATED MATERIALS BACK INTO THE PROCESS.
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - A PROJECT IS UNDERWAY TO INSTALL A BAGHOUSE WITH 99% CONTROL OF STACK EMISSIONS. ENGINEERING DESIGN IS COMPLETE AND AWAITING APPROVAL BY THE ALLEGHENY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. IT WILL THEN BE SUBMITTED FOR CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION BIDS, AFTER WHICH IT WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE FACILITY'S CAPITAL BUDGET FOR COMPLETION. |
