2017 |
Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.
|
Other Environmental Practices: Energy Recovery - Much of the waste shipped in 2017 was used in energy recovery off-site. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We recycled acetone in 2017 rather than ship off which helps reuse usable acetone. But by doing so another waste stream, acetone still bottoms was created. Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Production of product was up about 25%. Because resin and gelcoats are a primary component of the parts, their usage naturally goes up as part production goes up. Source Reduction: Source Reduction - For 2018 we are starting to shift away from acetone as a cleaner, going to more environmental friendly products for cleaning tools and equipment in our lamination departments. . |

Source Reduction - Regal marine has begun using a different lamination process to manufacture many fiberglass parts called infusion. This involves pulling the resin underneath a bag under vaccum which eliminates spraying the material and also being the bag covers the part eliminates emissions from the resin once its in the part before curing. Regal is continuing to incorporate this process into other parts and other process similar such as resin transfer molding. |
