Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - Ross Incineration Services, Inc. (RIS) is a RCRA Part B Permitted Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility which engages in commercial hazardous waste incineration as its primary method of treatment to reduce both the quantity and hazards associated with industrial waste from off-site generators. By nature, incineration reduces a chemicals ignitability, toxicity, and reactivity, while reducing the potential for toxic chemicals to enter the environment. Some wastes which RIS receives for treatment contain amounts of EPCRA Section 313 constituents. EPCRA Section 313 constituent levels that RIS reports fluctuate due to waste composition and receipt frequency, which changes year over year. RIS achieves greater than 99.99% destruction removal efficiency for any organic constituents which it treats, including EPCRA Section 313 chemicals. To further eliminate the potential for toxic chemicals to enter the environment, RIS has programs in place such as a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Contingency Plan and a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan. RIS is ISO 14001/45001 certified and has a formal Waste Minimization Program to reduce wastes, while increasing recycling/reuse practices. While RIS primary storage activities are associated with the incineration of waste and are reported accordingly, certain amounts of wastes which arrive on site are stored prior to shipment to another facility without repackaging. Per EPAs Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics EPCRA Section 313 Industry Guidance, RCRA Subtitle C TSD Facilities and Solvent Recovery Facilities, dated January 1999; storage, relabeling, or redistribution of an EPCRA Section 313 chemical where no repackaging occurs does not constitute manufacturing, processing, or otherwise use of that chemical. As such, RIS has not included EPCRA Section 313 chemicals managed in this way in its reported quantities for otherwise use. |

2021 | Other Environmental Practices - Ross Incineration Services, Inc. (RIS) is a leader in development and design of innovative waste handling and incineration methods. As a RCRA Part B permitted commercial hazardous waste treatment facility, the primary service offered is treatment by incineration of hazardous chemicals from off-site generators. By nature, incineration reduces a chemicals ignitability, toxicity, and reactivity, while reducing the potential for toxic chemicals to enter the environment. RIS is ISO 14001/45001 certified and has a formal Waste Minimization Program in place to reduce process and raw wastes, while increasing recycling and reuse practices. Reporting levels fluctuate due to waste composition and receipt frequency, which changes year over year. Additionally, RIS has pollution prevention programs in place such as Storm Water Pollution Prevision Plan, Spill Reporting, and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan. These programs further reduce the potential for toxic chemicals entering the environment.

Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - The amount of waste that was received and the amount of waste that was trans-shipped to another facility changed in 2019 compared to 2018. Due to variability in waste stream composition, any waste stream may contain a higher or lower concentration of a given TRI regulated chemical. Ross Incineration Services, Inc. has pollution prevention programs in place such as SWP3, Spill Reporting, and SPCC in place. These programs reduce the amount of toxic chemicals entering the environment. |

2016 | Other Environmental Practices - The amount of waste that was received and the amount of waste that was trans-shipped to another facility increased in 2016 compared to 2015.
2015 |
Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - Although incineration throughput decreased in 2015 compared to 2014, total operating hours were slightly higher. The amount of waste that was received and the amount of waste that was trans-shipped to another facility increased in 2015. |

2014 | Other Environmental Practices - RECEIPTS, INCINERATION THROUGHPUT, AND TRANS-SHIPPING INCREASED OVER 2013. HOWEVER, ANY WASTE STREAM CANCONTAIN A HIGHER OR LOWER CONCENTRATION OF A GIVEN TRI CHEMICAL. ROSS INCINERATION SERVICES, INC. HASPOLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAMS SUCH AS SWP3, SPILL REPORTING, AND SPCC IN PLACE TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OFTOXIC CHEMICALS ENTERING THE ENVIRONMENT.
