Pollution Prevention Activities for Selected Chemical
Reporting Year | Section 8.10: Newly Implemented Source Reduction Activity | Section 8.10: Methods to Identify Activity | Section 8.11: Optional Pollution Prevention Information* |
---|---|---|---|
2022 |
Source Reduction:: S02: Substituted an organic solvent[-0-4%]
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance
|
S02: Began using recycled solvent with less TRI chemical in the mixture |
2021 |
Source Reduction:: S21: Optimized process conditions to increase efficiency[-15-24%]
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
|
S21: Improved paint transfer efficiency for repair Source Reduction - Improved robot programing for in paint shop repairs |
2020 | Source Reduction - Purge solvent is already recycled and was formulated to be HAP -free. Process improvements have already reduced the quantity of purge needed. | ||
2019 | Other Environmental Practices - This material is already recycled. The purge solvent is formulated to have lower VOC and no HAPs. | ||
2017 |
Source Reduction:: W42: Substituted raw materials[-0-4%]
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
|
W42: Completed switch of purge solvent to one containing less hazardous or toxic materials and a lower VOC content. No offsite transfer for energy recovery expected as material no longer used. |
2016 |
Source Reduction:: W42: Substituted raw materials
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance |
W42: Switched purge solvent material to one containing less hazardous or toxic materials and a lower VOC content, while continuing off site recycling and reuse. The older recycled solvent inventory will be used and then disposed in CY17 so only recycling will continue into the future. |
2015 |
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - The majority of this material is part of a recycled purge solvent, cleaned off-site and reused on-site continuously. |
||
2012 |
Other Environmental Practices - THE MAJORITY OF THIS MATERIAL (7400 LBS IN RY2012) IS CONTAINED IN SOLVENT-BASED PAINT PURGE SOLVENT THAT IS RECYCLED 100% OFF-SITE AND RETURNED FOR REUSE. ADDITIONALLY TREATMENT, BOTH WWTP AND AIR INCINERATION ABATMENT, IS EMPLOYED TO REDUCE OR ELIMINATE RELEASE OF THE MATERIAL.
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - THE MAJORITY OF THIS MATERIAL (7400 LBS IN RY2012) IS CONTAINED IN SOLVENT-BASED PAINT PURGE SOLVENT AND IS RECYCLED 100% OFF-SITE AND RETURNED FOR REUSE. |
||
2008 | Other Environmental Practices - "8.6) quantity treated onsite" used to be accurately reported as "8.2) energy recovery on-Site". However the automated system insists on only choosing one of 3 regulated units to recover energy of which ours is none of the 3. Ours is energy recovery via a thermal incinerator abatement unit destroying voc's and utilizing the energy recovery to sustain the abatement unit operation without added fuel. It is not reported any longer as energy recovery in TRI as the trimeweb system does not allow identification of the abatement unit. | ||
