2019 |
Source Reduction:: W84: Developed a new chemical product to replace previous chemical product
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other
Barriers: B7 No known substitutes or alternative technologies. |
W84: R&D work is ongoing for a new lead free alloy that will replace the leaded alloy on some cast material. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - An increased amount of alloy millings are being added back tot eh casting process Barriers to P2: No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Some leaded alloys are dictated by the customer and may not be substituted |
2018 |
Barriers: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - For 2019, we have re-introduced our program for re-use of alloy millings in the process. Barriers to P2: No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - The lead content is required for the alloy structure required for the cast material used in the manufacture of bearings. Some new customers are moving to trying our lead free alloys. |
2017 |
Barriers: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We ship alloy millings off site for reclaim by our alloy supplier and re-use. We re-use a percentage of millings internally to our furnaces. All copper clad scrap is reclaimed for metal recovery. Barriers to P2: No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - The lead content is required for the different leaded alloy concentrations that we use and the required chemistry is dictated by our customers. No known substitute exists for the varying lead concentrations,. |
2016 |
Barriers: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We recycle all of our alloy left over from the milling process and scrap recovery except fro what small amount of aprtuclate is collected through our bag house and disposed by Heritage environmental. Barriers to P2: No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - The lead free usage for alloy has decreased due to a change in process from our main customer/owners. They changed to a roll bonding process for lead free in lieu of casting. The lead component is required for the other alloy types, no know substitute exists. |
