Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Facility is a hazardous waste treatment storage and disposal facility that receives various waste streams from numerous generators. Waste streams vary in volumes and constituent concentrations. Applicable regulatory limits are met prior to land disposing. Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - Facility is a hazardous waste treatment storage and disposal facility that receives various waste streams from numerous generators. Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Facility is a hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facility that receives various wastes from numerous generators. Regulatory limits are met prior to land disposing. Sodium nitrite received is deactivated in the treatment process. Deactivation dissociates the compound in to NO2+NO+H2O. Treatment technologies include microencapsulation, stabilization, chemical oxidation, deactivation, solidification, etc. |

Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Facility is a hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facility that receives various wastes from numerous generators. Metals cannot be destroyed and as a result total volume received is the total placed in the landfill. Regulatory limits are met prior to land disposing. |

Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Treatment and disposal facility. Chemicals received are discarded from generators. Applicable regulatory limits are met prior to land disposing. |

Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - Deactivation of sodium nitrate removes the oxidizer properties of the chemical. The treatment residual that is landfill will only have trace amounts of unreacted sodium nitrate. As a result the amount of sodium nitrate disposed of is very different than the amount received. Other Environmental Practices: Source Reduction - All waste meets appropriate land disposal restriction prior to landfill. Alternative treatment standards result in decreased treatment efficiency. |

Other Barriers to Source Reduction - hazardous waste treatment storage disposal facility receives waste from numberous generators and uses a variety of treatment methods including: chemical oxidation, neutralization, solidification, stabilization, microencapsulation, etc. Source reduction and waste minimization are not in the business model of a hazardous waste TSDF. Characteristic waste is treated to become nonhazardous. Other waste is treated to render the waste less hazardous. |
