Barriers: B8-Barriers to P2 B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible
|
Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - With current production and products, it is not technically feasible to substitute the product this is used in for alternative technologies. We are currently developing an alternate line of products that will not use this chemical but it will take time to possibly move it to the market as a viable substitute. |

|
Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - We have tried alternative chemistries but have been unsuccessful. In 2018 our usage of this should be reduced as we have been actively outsourcing this to other manufacturing locations. |

Source Reduction - We were able to steer a large piece of new business to using 100% water based product that significantly reduced additional usage of this material Source Reduction - Though we did not directly employ methods to reduce our quantities used this year, we did see a 13% reduction primarily based on business conditions and a reduction in volume on a particular product line. We are currently working in 2014 to employ waste reduction activities that will be reported in the 2014 Form R. The use of this chemical is essential in some of our products and without it, the quality of our product would decline. When reviewing new business opportunities, we are consciously looking at ways to reduce new emissions. We were successful this past year in transitioning a large new piece of business to a water based system rather than one that uses solvents to produce. This caused us to eliminate a large potential increase in the amount of material we were going to have to treat on-site. |

W42: Alternative products used in manufacturing that do not contain this chemical. Source Reduction - Collaboration with vendors to reduce costs and thus reduce the solvents used in manufacturting have helped lower the usage of this chemical. |

2010 | Other Environmental Practices - Near the end of 2008, we purchased and installeda new regenerative thermal oxidizer to capture and incinerate a larger percentage of our VOM emissions and reduce our natrual gas usage. Our FESOP permit was also revised and reissued at this time. Our increased emissions when comparing 2010 and 2009 data is due to increased manufacturing and productivity. | ||
