W82: Eliminated usage of antimony oxide as a raw material. Limited effectiveness. Source Reduction - R&D reformulated formulas using antimony oxide. Source Reduction: Source Reduction - Eliminated use of antimony oxide as an ingredient |

Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T01: Internal pollution prevention opportunity audit(s) |
W49: Raw material substitute is in progress. R&D and Quality testing to determine if products still meet customer specifications are in progress. Several formulas are under study and the others will be evaluated once these are successfully switched over. Source Reduction - As part of our EMS and due to regulatory reporting requirements, elimination of this material been selected for further evaluation. Source Reduction - See above. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - After reviewing scrap generated in 2016, we determined that additional scrap can be sent to a recycler with the barrier returned to us for reuse. |
2015 |
Source Reduction:: W13: Improved maintenance scheduling, recordkeeping, or procedures
Source Reduction:: W14: Changed production schedule to minimize equipment and feedstock changeovers Source Reduction:: W29: Other changes in inventory control Source Reduction:: W58: Other process modifications |

Other Environmental Practices: Source Reduction - Investigations are in progress to make changes to equipment to increase efficiency and decrease waste. Other Environmental Practices: Methods for Identifying Pollution Prevention Opportunities - Facility has Department task forces that include identifying waste and tracking. Much of our waste (trimmings) are already reused within our process. As part of this, process improvements and management controls are routinely scrutinized |
2014 |
Barriers: B3-No Information B3 - Concern that product quality may decline as a result of source reduction.
Barriers: B4-No Information B4 - Source reduction activities were implemented but were unsuccessful. Barriers: B7-No Information B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. |
Source Reduction: Source Reduction - Efforts to improve process, conserve raw materials, the products we produce and customer orders inhibit reduction of ths particular raw material. The raw material is also added to ensure processes do not overheat, cause scrap and/or cause a fire. As part of R&D, substitution of this raw material is not yet required but they are aware that if a good alternative for our particular process and products are found then further investigation will likely occur. Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - Antimony disposal calculations were revised because better data was collected and could be verified against products mixed that contain antimony |
