2021 |
Source Reduction:: S31: Instituted better labeling, testing, or other inventory management practices
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T03: Materials balance audits
|
Other Environmental Practices: Energy Recovery - Use of waste product as a fuel. |

2017 |
Other Environmental Practices: Energy Recovery - Ketone residue containing MIBK sent to Green America is used for fuel. |

|
Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - MON FFFF requirements included the installation of a thermal oxidizer to control air emissions and a steam stripper to control water discharges that go directly to the POTW. Other Environmental Practices: Energy Recovery - The site will continue to use Green America to have waste ketone utilized as a fuel at their facility. The site does not provide any on-site energy recovery. |
|
2009 | Other Environmental Practices - 2009 was the first year that both the thermal oxidizer and steam stripper installed in May 2008, operated for the entire year. This resulted in less emissions to the environment and greater capture of those pollutants. In 2009 the facility started sending those captured pollutants to a solvent recycler and was able to recycle 272,823 pounds of material rather than having it treated for energy recovery. The facility expects to recycle a much greater amount in 2010. | ||
2008 |
Source Reduction:: W36: Implemented inspection or monitoring program of potential spill or leak sources
Source Reduction:: W58: Other process modifications |
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T10: Vendor assistance
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T11: Other |
Other Environmental Practices - The facility began operation of a Thermal Oxidizer and a Steam Stripper in May 2008. The thermal oxidizer has a >99% destruction efficency to treat the point sources of air emissions at the facility and the steam stripper recovers organics out of the wastewater prior to discharge. The recovered organics from the steam stripper are transferred to Holcim US Inc. Geocycle LLC for energy recovery. In addtion the facility began using actual LDAR testing data to calculate fugitive air emissions rather than AP42 emission factors. |
