Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
|
S25: Chlorothalonil rinse water was held after a washout to be reused in the future campaigns. This eliminates a significant amount of wastewater that is generated and sent out for disposal. Source Reduction - Recycle rinse water takes a collaborate effort by everyone here at the plant to properly store and monitor the recycle inventories and then to re-use in new campaigns. |

W19: 90% of the Chlorothalonil used in our process is captured in the washout process. This rinse water is held and re-used in later campaigns. This is a huge step for us in reducing the amount of Chlorothalonil sent to offsite disposal. |

W19: 80% of Chlorothalonil rinse water generated at this site is recycled back into future campaigns. We installed Chlorothalonil rinse water tanks to hold wash water that is reworked back into new production at a 10-20% blend ratio. W66: We use high pressure washers that reduce the amount of waste water generated during the cleaning process. |

Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Rinse water containing Chlorothalonil from washouts was collected and re-used in succeeding campaigns. This reduced the amount of Chlorothalonil waste sent to off-site treatment facilities. |

W14: Worked with Client to combine production runs into single campaigns. This resulted in fewer washouts and a reduction in waste water disposal. |

W14: Combined multiple campaigns into large runs to minimize the number of washouts. W67: Installed spray balls on the equipment tanks to apply high pressure, low volume water. This minimized the amount of clean out water generated. Source Reduction - Installed lines that slope with no dead legs to minimize the amount of concentrated product that has to be washed. Reduces the amount of water significantly. |

W67: While processing the last batch of material, we now hold out a large quantity of water and then add it in as a rinse through the system. This reduces the amount of Chlorothalonil rinse water generated during a washout. Source Reduction - We combined numerous smaller runs into a single, larger campaign. This reduced the number of washouts in our facility. |
2011 | Other Environmental Practices - Chlorothalonil rinse water from the process is collected and used in future production runs. This eliminates the need for disposal of this chemical. |
