2022 |
Source Reduction:: S44: Other improvements to operating practices and training[-0-4%]
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
|
S44: Increase training on washout process line to minimize waste. Source Reduction - The site is looking to reducing waste/carbon footprint. Site leadership team dedicated to reducing waste. Other Barriers to Source Reduction - The material use is based on supply and demand. If demand goes up, so will the use and emissions, therefore, source reduction for this material may not be feasible year to year. |

Source Reduction:: S44: Other improvements to operating practices and training[-0-4%]
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T01: Internal pollution prevention opportunity audit(s)
|
S44: Training for all to washout line the same way to minimize waste. Source Reduction - Our site is always looking to reduce our waste/carbon footprint. We have a team dedicated to reducing waste in any form. Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Source reduction for this material may not show year to year. The use of the material is based on supply and demand. So if demand goes up, so will our use and emissions for this product. |
2020 |
Source Reduction:: W36: Implemented inspection or monitoring program of potential spill or leak sources[-0-4%]
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T01: Internal pollution prevention opportunity audit(s)
Barriers: B8-Barriers to P2 B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible |
W36: We have collection pans stationed at connection points to capture leaks from fittings. There is secondary containment located throughout the plant for this and all materials handled at the site. Source Reduction - We have a "Green Team" that meets to discuss waste reduction and other green activities. Recycling is going to be looked at for this material and any others if possible. Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - Site does not seem to be able to reduce the activities associated with this material. There has been no significant increase in waste or emissions from this material. Production has been steady and should remain on that pattern. |
2019 |
Barriers: B8-Barriers to P2 B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible
|
Source Reduction: Methods for Identifying Pollution Prevention Opportunities - Site is trying to become a Certified California Green Business. Pollution prevention is a part of the certification requirements. Outside waste management groups have visited the site to help with this process. Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - Pumps are dedicated for tanks and materials. Washout methods have improved and less waste is generated than prior years. |

2018 |
Barriers: B8-Barriers to P2 B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible
|
Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - This material is on site only once every 4 months. Procedures to minimize the amount of waste generated are followed by employees. Waste is inevitable, but with proper training and procedures in place. We can minimize the amount of waste produced. |

2017 |
Source Reduction:: W63: Modified containment procedures for cleaning units[-0-4%]
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
|
W63: A new checklist on how to perform washouts was generated and this material can be involved from a change in material washout approach. Source Reduction - Management team worked with operations to develop a step by step washout checklist. Source Reduction: Methods for Identifying Pollution Prevention Opportunities - Accident preventive techniques system that all employees participate in to help identify things like pollution prevention. Daily inspections of work areas to prevent pollution of the work areas due to leaks and possible spills. Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - Procedures in place to promote pollution prevention. (Drip/catch pans, dedicated hoses/systems) |
2016 |
Source Reduction:: W29: Other changes in inventory control
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
|
W29: We no longer order bulk tankers of the material. We only order prefilled drums as needed and repack the material. This has eliminated a large amount of waste produced from line, hose and filter flush. Source Reduction - Management decision to move from bulk delivery to drums. Cost, space and waste efficiency. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Currently working with outside groups to try and recycle flush/cleanout materials. |
2013 | Other Environmental Practices - We have implemented a recycle program that doesn't fall into any of the categories listed. Our materials for disposal are a substitute for a commercially available product. | ||
2012 |
Source Reduction:: W29: Other changes in inventory control
|
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T06: Employee recommendation (under a formal company program)
|
W29: identified a user for the waste that can use the waste as an effective substitute for a commercially available product. |
