Column Name: ACTIVITY_RATIO
Description: An activity ratio is a ratio of current year to prior year values, but is reported when a chemical is involved in an activity not directly related to production or production levels. An activity ratio is appropriate if a chemical is used in an auxiliary activity such as cleaning or pollution control. This ratio indicates the level of increase or decrease from the previous year, of the activity that the toxic chemical is used in. This number is usually around 1.0. For example, an activity ratio of 1.5 would indicate that the activity associated with the use of the toxic chemical has increased by about 50 percent. Conversely, an activity ratio of 0.3 would indicate that the activity associated with the use of the toxic chemical has decreased by about 70 percent.
