Pollution Prevention Activities for Selected Chemical

Reporting Year Section 8.10: Newly Implemented Source Reduction Activity Section 8.10: Methods to Identify Activity Section 8.11: Optional Pollution Prevention Information*
2024 Barriers: B6-Barriers to P2 B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - The facility replaced integral processing equipment in 2021 that has allowed the facility to increase production while also reducing the amount of hexane lost per ton of soybeans processed. This can be seen in the facilities already below MACT standard emission rate. Production setpoints, process handling and automation are continually refined and maximized. For these reasons, reductions in n-Hexane emissions may not be possible at this time.

2023 Barriers: B6-Barriers to P2 B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas

2020 Barriers: B6-Barriers to P2 B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - The facility was built with the latest technological advancements in oilseed extracting available. This can be seen in the facilities already below MACT standard emission rate. Additional process control related improvements have been made since the plant construction. Production setpoints, process handling and automation have been further refined and maximized. For these reasons, reductions in n-Hexane emissions may not be possible at this time.
