Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - The elimination of using the dissociated ammonia (DA) would prevent manufacturing of some parts that require sintering in a reduction atmosphere provided by the DA.

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - Continued practices in minimizing the use of the bulk ammonia used for dissociation by 1) shutting down furnaces when not in use on weekends and plant shutdown periods and slow production periods; and 2) using the large sintering furnace in batches for upcoming quarterly production. The alternative to ammonia requires the storage of hydrogen gas, an extremely flammable material.

Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - The alternative to using dissociated ammonia (DA) is using bulk hydrogen, another highly flammable material. The elimination of using DA would also prevent manufacturing of some of the company's products that require sintering in a reduction atmosphere under high temperatures provided by the DA.

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - Continued practices in minimizing the use of the bulk ammonia for dissociation by: 1) shutting down furnaces and ammonia crackers when not needed for weekends, shutdown periods and slow times in production activity; and 2) using the large sintering furnace in batches for upcoming quarterly manufacturing. Ammonia usage decreased 2% despite a 25% production increase.

Barriers to P2: B6 - Pollution prevention previously implemented - additional reduction does not appear technically or economically feas - Already minimized use of ammonia in dissociation process by: 1) shutting down furnaces on weekends/when manufacturing not running; and 2) running the sintering process in a minimum number of batches for the upcoming quarter's production. We continued these practices last year, reducing consumption of anhydrous ammonia by 7.9%
