W15: The site used enhanced process monitoring and quality control which has improved resource utilization and decreased waste generation. This has enabled the facility to reduce metal waste, and to support the recovery and recycling of scrap. In response to changing markets and customer requests, the facility changed the type of metal inputs used in production processes. Much of the material used had a lower Ni content than had previously been used by the site. This lowered the amount of Ni used in RY2019 and has impacted the Production Ratio. Source Reduction - Staff are actively engaged in monitoring the production process. Staff are encouraged to identify and act upon opportunities to improve production efficiency to reduce operational costs and prevent waste. |
