W13: Records needed to determine ammonia slip were not readily available. Procedures and record-keeping have been modified to ensure this availability. Source Reduction - A Guardian engineer worked persistently with necessary subject experts to determine the correct calculations for ammonia slip. Source Reduction - Collaboration between engineers and the manufacturer of our recordkeeping equipment created a better platform for tracking ammonia slip. Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - Ammonia referred to in this section is used in an Environmental Control Device to control air emissions. This system is new to us and as we understand correlations and gather information we are able to make better use decisions. |
The Waste Management Hierarchy |
The waste management hierarchy established by the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA) guides waste generators toward the best options for managing wastes.
The preferred option is to prevent pollution at its source, but for waste that is generated, the preferred management methods are recycling, followed
by burning for energy recovery, treatment and, as a last resort, disposing of the waste.
