|
2012 | Other Environmental Practices - In 2012 changed from sending corrosive waste from landfill to waste to energy. The solid waste from this chemical is no longer landfilled.
2011 | Other Environmental Practices - In 2012 WaferTech is in the process of changing the landfill waste to Waste to Energy, pending a successful TSDF audit of the site. This will decrease waste to landfill, debris would be used for energy recovery.

The Waste Management Hierarchy |
The waste management hierarchy established by the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA) guides waste generators toward the best options for managing wastes.
The preferred option is to prevent pollution at its source, but for waste that is generated, the preferred management methods are recycling, followed
by burning for energy recovery, treatment and, as a last resort, disposing of the waste.
