2016 |
Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.
|
Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Acrylonitrile is critical in the production of certain polymers. There is not substitution at this time. |

Barriers: B1-Other Environmental Practices B1 - Insufficient capital to install new source reduction equipment or implement new source reduction activities/initiat
|
Other Environmental Practices: B1 - Insufficient capital to install new source reduction equipment or implement new source reduction activities/initiat - Currently using product in drums but due to volume increase will be evaluating addition of bulk storage in 2016. This will decrease fugitive emissions. Source Reduction: Methods for Identifying Pollution Prevention Opportunities - Method to wash lines after reaction has been modified so that less unreacted monomer is discharge to system. |

2012 |
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Pollution prevention previously implemented-additonal reducion does not appear technically or economically feasible. |

The Waste Management Hierarchy |
The waste management hierarchy established by the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA) guides waste generators toward the best options for managing wastes.
The preferred option is to prevent pollution at its source, but for waste that is generated, the preferred management methods are recycling, followed
by burning for energy recovery, treatment and, as a last resort, disposing of the waste.
