2021 Source Reduction:: S23: Implemented new technology, technique, or process
Methods to Identify SR Opportunities: T04: Participative team management
S23: Upgrades were instituted in our wastewater treatment plant in 2020 which increased efficiency

Source Reduction - We have implemented a robust recycling program that is helping eliminate waste

Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We have implemented a robust recycling program

2020
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Currently have a formal recycling process in place to minimize landfill depletion

2019
Other Environmental Practices: General Environmental Management - We are currently working to improve the functionality and efficiency of our wastewater treatment operations.

Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Currently have an formal recycling effort in place to minimize landfill depletion.

2018
Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - We have spent approximately $70,000 on wastewater improvements in 2018. Deepening on performance, more money may be spent in 2019.

2017
Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - We are in the process up updating the technology at our wastewater treatment plant,. While we do not viable alternative to the raw material that we use, we are in the process of improvement our ability to treat waste water.

2016 Barriers: B7-Barriers to P2 B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies.

Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - With our current pretreat process there are no known substitutes that will do the intended job of the current chemical that we use.

TRI Pollution Prevention Glossary

The Waste Management Hierarchy

The waste management hierarchy established by the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA) guides waste generators toward the best options for managing wastes. The preferred option is to prevent pollution at its source, but for waste that is generated, the preferred management methods are recycling, followed by burning for energy recovery, treatment and, as a last resort, disposing of the waste.
  • Source Reduction includes activities that eliminate or reduce the generation of chemical waste.
  • Recycling includes the recovery of a toxic chemical in waste for reuse.
  • Energy Recovery includes the combustion of toxic chemicals in waste to generate heat or electricity.
  • Treatment includes the destruction of a toxic chemical in waste.
  • Disposal or Other Releases includes toxic chemical quantities entering the environment.
The PPA requires facilities to provide the following details about each chemical they report to TRI:
Facilities may also provide optional Pollution Prevention Information describing their source reduction, recycling, or pollution control activities.
