2018 |
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We recycle our cleaning solvent to reduce off-site hazardous waste. |
||
2017 |
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We recycle our cleaning solvent in an effort to reduce off-site waste shipments. |
||
2016 |
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We recycle our cleaning solvent. We had an issue with getting our solvent recycling vendor to our facility in 2016 and this contributed to our recycling efforts being lower than in 2015. We expect recycling efforts in 2017 to be more in line with 2015 recycling efforts. |
||
2015 |
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We are recycling our cleaning solvent. This has resulted in a significant decrease in the amount of solvent waste shipped offsite. It has also helped us realize cost savings in waste disposal and virgin solvent purchase costs. We recycle the solvent multiple times which makes our waste numbers appear higher. |
||
2014 |
Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - We have a vendor come into our facility once a quarter with a mobile distillation truck and we recycle our cleaning solvent. This reduces the amount of solvent waste we ship offsite and allows us to reuse the solvent for cleaning purposes. |
The Waste Management Hierarchy |
The waste management hierarchy established by the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA) guides waste generators toward the best options for managing wastes.
The preferred option is to prevent pollution at its source, but for waste that is generated, the preferred management methods are recycling, followed
by burning for energy recovery, treatment and, as a last resort, disposing of the waste.
