Under the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990 (PPA), TRI collects information to track industry progress in reducing waste generation and moving towards safer waste management alternatives. Measures that facilities have taken to prevent pollution and reduce the amount of toxic chemicals entering the environment are shown in the table below. Although factors other than these reported practices contribute to year-to-year changes in releases, results are sorted by largest reduction in order to facilitate identification of pollution prevention successes. Chlorine 424690: Other Chemical and Allied Products Merchant Wholesalers 2017 571.08 26.10 -95.43 Source Reduction: W58: Other process modifications - Chlorine is used to manufacture sodium hypochlorite on site. The company has opted to by high strength sodium hypoclorite solution which is further diluted on site to a commercial grade strength. The diluted material is sold as a substitute for the material previously manufactured on site thus creating a reduction the company's need for chlorine in commercial bleach manufacturing. .

Ammonia 424690: Other Chemical and Allied Products Merchant Wholesalers 2024 1,539.04 1,510.61 -1.85 Source Reduction: Source Reduction - The system is provided with a point source scrubber that is 98% efficient. The scrubber waste stream is hard piped to the system and recycled back into the production unit to make product. //enviro.epa.gov/enviro/P2_EF_Query.p2_report?FacilityId=02722BRMCS106FE&ChemicalId=0007664417&ReportingYear=2024&DocCtrlNum=1324222468201&Opt=0

Chlorine 424690: Other Chemical and Allied Products Merchant Wholesalers 2018 26.10 41.00 57.09 Source Reduction: Source Reduction - The company has significantly reduced the amount of chlorine that it processed on site in the past by substituting chlorine using a high strength bleach solution that is diluted, as necessary, to common industrial strength bleach solution.. //enviro.epa.gov/enviro/P2_EF_Query.p2_report?FacilityId=02722BRMCS106FE&ChemicalId=0007782505&ReportingYear=2018&DocCtrlNum=1318217709183&Opt=0

Chlorine 424690: Other Chemical and Allied Products Merchant Wholesalers 2020 125.00 200.00 60 Source Reduction: The company is a whole sale manufacturer and processor of industrial bleach solutions. The chlorine processing is solely driven by customers demand for bleach solution and economics. The bleach manufacturing equipment is, for the most part, welded piping that minimizes fugitive sources through valves and flanges. The process is provided with a scrubber that is used to purge the process equipment of chlorine drawing the process piping into vacuum at shut down. There is no chlorine residual in process equipment when the plant shut therefore no fugitive leakage. The bleach plant is also provided with chlorine sensors that will detect leakage at 1 ppm and sound an alarm and will automatically shut down the process if 3 ppm fugitive chlorine is detected. The plant will not run without the sensors functioning properly and the detectors cannot be bypassed. We have identified no other options of source reduction. //enviro.epa.gov/enviro/P2_EF_Query.p2_report?FacilityId=02722BRMCS106FE&ChemicalId=0007782505&ReportingYear=2020&DocCtrlNum=1320218630628&Opt=0

Ammonia 424690: Other Chemical and Allied Products Merchant Wholesalers 2022 0 1,551.60 Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - Storage tank and tanker truck ammonia filling or ambient emissions are directed through a hard piping to the ammonia scrubber containing demineralize water. Ammonia emissions are readily absorbed by the scrubber water. The scrubber water is routinely recycled back into the process and is used to make aqua ammonia solution. The reuse of scrubber water to make product eliminates any wastewater discharge from the process due to normal operations. //enviro.epa.gov/enviro/P2_EF_Query.p2_report?FacilityId=02722BRMCS106FE&ChemicalId=0007664417&ReportingYear=2022&DocCtrlNum=1322220751162&Opt=0
