Under the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990 (PPA), TRI collects information to track industry progress in reducing waste generation and moving towards safer waste management alternatives. Measures that facilities have taken to prevent pollution and reduce the amount of toxic chemicals entering the environment are shown in the table below. Although factors other than these reported practices contribute to year-to-year changes in releases, results are sorted by largest reduction in order to facilitate identification of pollution prevention successes. View the to learn about this report's features.

Equipment failure, Strut Width Out of Spec, ID Protrusions, and Bends all improved.
Source Reduction: S24: Modified or updated equipment or layout - Replace existing cathode ferrules with more robust design. Reduce Etch/EP Tank alarms by 26%
Source Reduction: S25: Other process modifications made - The equipment is designed for all the condensate inside the modules drain back into the process tanks and the ventilation inside the modules is negative to outside, so when the room humidity goes up the moisture condenses inside the equipment and dilutes the chemistry (increases the conductivity). Because our process is constant voltage control, the power supplies have to increase the current to offset the increase in conductivity leading to elevated power supply faults. Which gets mitigated by changing the chemistry more often.
Source Reduction: S35: Other improvements to inventory and material management - Removal of first in first out software constraint on MCT-BE Wet lines. Improved Wet line Utilization by 5.5% for Promus/Premier Stents and 16.1% for Synergy Stents.

Source Reduction: S35: Other improvements to inventory and material management - Removal of first in first out software constraints on Wet lines. Improved Wet line Utilization by 5.5% for Promus/Premier Stents and 16.1% for Synergy Stents
