Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - n-Hexane is a formulation component of the denaturant used in the product |
|
2017 |
Other Barriers to Source Reduction - Hexane emissions are directly related to natural gas combustion activities on equipment that is used to control various other pollutants, as well as the content in the denaturant added to the final product. Aside from choosing a different denaturant, which may contain higher concentrations of other pollutants, or running the control equipment less (which is not possible), there is no feasible source reduction activity for hexane at this time for the facility. Other Environmental Practices: Waste Treatment - The facility has amended calculation methods to include total chemical treated based on increase in truck loadout in RY2017, which is controlled via flare. |
