Other Barriers to Source Reduction - The use of Leaded Solder is driven by customer demand. Though a majority of the consumers have migrated to a Lead-Free final finish, there are still some applications that require Leaded Solder. We have offered alternative finishes such as ENIG, Immersion Ag and Lead-Free Solder. However, the use of Leaded-Solder is dictated by the application of the end product as designed by the customer. |

Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - The customer base delegates what solder is to be used on their circuit boards. For those that select a Leaded Solder finish, it is based on the application that the board was designed for. For the most part, leaded solder is heavily used in military and government applications. |

Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Leaded solder is the only source for Lead in our manufacturing process. The use of Leaded solder is dictated by the end user. Other Environmental Practices: Recycling - The off-site transfers go to Metallic Resources and Reldan Metals. Both of these places recycle the metal. |

Barriers to P2: B8 - A reduction does not appear to be technically feasible - Though we are one of the largest lead free solder final finish providers in the circuit board industry, the use of leaded solder is dependent on customer requirements. The leaded solder is a final finish. It does not go through any subtractive processes after it is applied. It is just cleaned. |

Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - The primary source for the Lead in our processes is the Leaded HASL finish. Though we offer alternative final finishes, the Leaded Solder finish is mandated by some customers (primarily government and military). |

Barriers to P2: B7 - No known substitutes or alternative technologies. - Though Advanced Circuits offers and produces a large amount of Lead-Free solder final finishes, the market demand for Leaded solder is what drives the usage of the Lead based solder. |
