Additional Optional Information on Source Reduction, Recycling, or Pollution Control Activities
Each year the photochemical industry continues to decline by conversion to digital x-ray processing. The use of hydroquinone which is the essential developing agent for all liquid photochemical processing of x-ray film will continue to decline as the digital market increases thus reducing the need to develop x-ray film and thereby reducing the need for hydroquinone. FR Chemical is projecting to decline at a very fast rate for the year 2010 . The first phase of production shutdown of medical x-ray chemistry production has been completed. This has significantly impacted the use of hydroquinone for production. It is projected by the end of 2010 this facility will be shutdown and no longer produce photochemistry. |
