PRAI | Production or Activity Variable | With the inception of our new carbon fiber production line (Line 33) in January 2017, 2017 was expected to produce amounts of carbon fiber approximately equal to that of the combined amounts produced yearly by our two existing lines (Line 31 and Line 32). Hence, production was expected to double in volume overall. In addition, Line 33 has Best Available Control Technology (BACT) implemented throughout all operations. However, it was not until March 2017 that production of commercial fiber commenced due to various process upsets experienced early on. Therefore, for reporting year 2017 the increase of emissions was not exactly doubled and were less than originally anticipated. |
