CALC | Calculation Methods, e.g., Emission Factors | Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. purchased and implemented EPRI's TRI for Power Plant software for TRI Reporting in RY2015. The EPRI TRI software utilizes a mass-balance approach based on fuel input and plant configuration to estimate, track and collect information for possible TRI Form R reporting. Montana-Dakota integrated the software with its compliance management system for TRI reporting in RY2015. Per this compliance management system, it was discovered on April 12, 2017 that site-specific tire-derived fuel concentration data was available in RY2015 while, at the time, EPRI TRI software reference values were used as software inputs to evaluate threshold estimations for reporting in RY2015. Montana-Dakota has concluded that the zinc compound concentration for the site-specific tire-derived fuel was higher than the default reference value in the EPRI TRI software, thus resulting in a need to update the zinc compound threshold estimation for RY2015. Utilizing the updated site-specific threshold estimation shows that a Form R was required for zinc compounds for RY2015. |
