For this reason, wastes collected over a period of time in one year, may actually be sent off site months later in the following year. For this reason, amounts of lead waste sent out for recycling from year to year may vary significantly. |
PRAI | Production or Activity Variable | Lead is used in the production of RACING disc friction materials only. Friction materials used in Racing discs are a very small portion of the total of all friction materials produced at Ace Manufacturing. Over the past few years the annual usage of lead in friction materials has been relatively steady. This is confirmed by way of maximum on site lead quantities and yearly usage of lead. The reason for the variances reported in section 8.5 - Quantity Recycled Off-Site - from year to year is due to an inconsistency of collection periods from year to year before material is sent off site for recycling. (i.e. In 2018, only one shipment was made to recycling vendor. This shipment involved only one container of friction material waste. In 2019, shipments will be made to recyclers that will consist of many pallets of friction material waste containing lead that has been collected over a number of months) |
